First Saturday Art Reception: The Storefront Gallery | The Arts
The Storefront Gallery at 93 Broadway is pleased to feature the paintings of Pablo Shine for the month of June in a show titled, Tropico. The opening reception is Saturday, June 1st, from 5-8pm.
Pablo Shine’s recent work is the result of a process of exploration that was triggered a few years ago by getting reacquainted with Afro-Caribbean music. In this case, mainly with the rhythm and dance of Bomba and Plena from his native Puerto Rico and the Rumba and Santeria music of their sister island Cuba. Playing these African based rhythms he began to be inspired to paint images that relate to the folklore, culture and the tropical beauty found in the lush and vibrant flora of Puerto Rico.
Gallery hours are Saturday 1-6pm and 24/7 through the storefront windows. Also by appointment. Or visit www.TheStorefrontGallery.com. For more information, call 845-338-8473.

Good Old Vintage invites you to join us for an evening of fantastic art by Andy Milford; including photography and stencils.
“Kingston is a city with a rich history and a potentially sparkly future. I enjoy exploring its nooks and crannies, searching out its obscure and oft over looked treasures as well as documenting its growing art scene and day to day existence.
So far I have accomplished this via my photography though more recently I have branched out into painting and stenciling.”
-Andy Milford
Andy Milford was born in Peterborough, England and currently lives in Kingston.
